HOW DO I BECOME A PERFORMING MEMBER?
Annual performing member auditions are held typically in March and on a case-by-case basis. Membership requirements and associated fees/obligations are available in the Performer Member Audition Package (pdf) or upon request by calling 336-887-4HPB (4472) or via email.
HOW DO I STUDY WITH THE HIGH POINT BALLET?
High Point Ballet, the training ground for the diverse dancer, offers classes year-round from August until the Spring Performance in June. A summer intensive is then offered. Classes in ballet, pointe, partnering, jazz/hip hop, tap, contemporary, and musical theatre are offered. Perspective students will participate in a recommended placement class. Inquiries about placement classes may be made by calling 336-887-4HPB (4472) or via email.
HOW CAN I PARTICIPATE IN THE NUTCRACKER?
Performing members of the High Point Ballet who have met all their study requirements may participate in the annual Nutcracker performance. Dancers must participate in the the Nutcracker Boot Camp the first full week of August to learn choreography and audition for specific roles. Only two (2) unexcused absences are allowed during subsequent rehearsals. (Production fees apply.)
HOW CAN I PARTICIPATE IN OTHER PRODUCTIONS?
Performing members of the High Point Ballet who have met all their study requirements may participate the performance season. Only two (2) unexcused absences from rehearsal are allowed. (Production fees apply.)
ARE THERE OTHER PERFORMANCE OPPORTUNITIES AVAILABLE?
High Point Ballet participates annually in the Regional Dance America Southeast Division Festival. Performer members who meet participation requirements may attend and may be asked to perform with the company. High Point Ballet is also strongly committed to community service and has performance opportunities available through those programs.
