A HOLIDAY TRADITION CONTINUES
High Point Ballet celebrates over thirty seasons of The Nutcracker. A family holiday tradition with all the magic High Point Ballet brings to the stage, HPB’s Nutcracker opened in 1987 at the Edward C Smith Civic Center in Lexington. From there HPB’s Nutcracker has performed at the High Point Theater, High Point University, returned to Lexington and is now it its fourth full season back at the High Point Theater.

With the magic of Drosselmeyer, played by Choreographer and Artistic Director, Gary Taylor Clara’s dream comes to life with all The Nutcracker’s favorite characters. These performances feature Act One, Party Scene, Battle and Snow along with the captivating Second Act Land of the Sweets. Join HPB as Clara asks the question, “Was it only a dream?” Tickets are only available through the High Point Theatre.

FROM CLARA TO SUGAR PLUM FAIRY – MEET RACHAEL DEAN, FEATURED HIGH POINT BALLET PERFORMING MEMBER
2018 marked Rachael Dean’s 14th HPB Nutcracker season. Rachael began her dance training with High Point Ballet at age four and will be pursuing a BFA in Dance Performance at University of Hartford with the Hartt School and is a scholarship recipient with the school. During her time with High Point Ballet, Rachael has embraced the diverse style of training and performance associated with the company. As a member, she has performed throughout the triad and southeast, attended festivals and conferences, and received several awards and recognitions including recipient of the Hartt Scholarship, Eurotard Cash Scholarship, and National Choreography Intensive Scholarship. Rachael is also a member of National Honor Society of Dance Arts. Her 2018 Nutcracker roles included Arabian and Spanish lead and Sugar Plum Fairy.
