WHAT DOES IT MEAN?

High Point Ballet prides itself on being the home of the diversified dancer. Performing members are required to study with High Point Ballet to ensure that proper training is attained for performance success. Members are offered a course of study over two to four days based on level placement. Classes are offered first by ability and then by age and are taught in a conservatory style of diverse subject. The curriculum includes a level appropriate daily ballet class along with at least, but not limited to, one other subject. The daily schedule of classes may vary based on instructor/guest artist options available to ensure all students benefit from from teacher experience and knowledge base. Master classes are also offered throughout the season.

Want to train but not perform? While membership with High Point Ballet is not required for training, allowances cannot be extended to those who choose not to perform in regards to rehearsal scheduling or tuition fees.

High Point Ballet’s current season of classes, under the guidance of Artistic Director, Gary Taylor, features several levels of training Monday – Thursday affording students up to 11 hours per week. Curriculum includes a daily ballet/pointe class, based on level and at least one other subject. Placement auditions recommended for new students.

PERFORMING MEMBER AUDITIONS Thursday, March 7, 2024

The first step to performing in the 37th Annual Nutcracker! A panel of dance experts, including the Director(s) of the High Point Ballet, will adjudicate the auditions. Dancers will participate in a ballet/pointe class depending on level. Upper levels should also be prepared for contemporary/tap/jazz. If this is your first time auditioning with High Point Ballet, please contact HPB directly for appropriate audition time. Auditions are for placement only.

SUMMER INTENSIVE 2024 June 10- July 5, 2024

High Point Ballet’s Summer Intensive, under the guidance of Artistic Director, Gary Taylor, features several levels of training within a four-week period, June 10-July 5, 2023. Classes are held Monday-Thursday with a Friday option for our highest levels, affording students up to 22 hours of study per week. Curriculum includes a daily ballet/pointe class and at least one other subject. Placement auditions recommended for new students.
